Re: Status of Pull Requests 1018 and 1020

Jon,
There was not much discussion in the minutes - https://www.w3.org/2019/09/15-aria-minutes - but we came to pretty much unanimous consensus at TPAC that the new labelling mechanisms were not going to be stable enough to ship in the ARIA 1.2 timeline.

The plan is to continue working on them and add them to 1.3 as soon as we can such that we can get implementations and real-world experience of them in enough time that they are stable for the 1.3 release. The changes being proposed are too large for this stage of the 1.2 timeline.

I’ll put them back on the agenda once I’ve talked with Joanie about how we are going to manage 1.3 features before the 1.2 branch has shipped.
