On a standalone page like this it's not much of an issue, but when inserted into large pages where the carousel slides themselves may contain many differing types of elements ranging from headings to links to form fields to tables etc., it's important to convey where the carousel region boundaries are so that a screen reader user can easily skip to or past it intuitively. Also, as an FYI, simple buttons with aria-current work well for carousels too without requiring the use of ARIA Tab markup. E.
