Re: Agenda for Monday, 18 September 2017 ARIA Authoring Practices Task Force

Bryan,

Thank you for the comment.

We removed the aria-hidden attribute on the role=tab.

    Hi John,
It looks good to me from my testing, though is there a reason why aria-hidden="false" is on the currently selected role="tab"?

I would recommend adding a named region around the construct to identify it as a carousel region. On a standalone page like this it's not much of an issue, but when inserted into large pages where the carousel slides themselves may contain many differing types of elements ranging from headings to links to form fields to tables etc., it's important to convey where the carousel region boundaries are so that a screen reader user can easily skip to or past it intuitively.

Also, as an FYI, simple buttons with aria-current work well for carousels too without requiring the use of ARIA Tab markup.

    Matt,

We have 90% of a carousel example to show, so if there is some time today can we review the current design?
