Re: UIA mapping of heading role.

Somehow I've missed this and another mail and don't seem to find them in my inbox at all.

To the issue at hand, for the role "heading", Cynthia is correct for the TextPattern part. However, I understand the question applies more to the tree mapping, than TextPattern exposure and latter is not sufficient replacement for the former. It is correct that UIA currently doesn't have suitable ControlType for the "heading" role that can be used directly.

I would continue with the current mapping and expand it to add "heading" as localized control type. PR - https://github.com/w3c/aria/pull/532.

On a separate note I've filed a request to UIA to add ControlType for "Heading" (and "Header", "Paragraph", while I'm there) - will update the mapping if better option is available.
