Both to [Can I Use](http://caniuse.com/#feat=addeventlistener) and [MDN](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/EventTarget/addEventListener) say addEventListener is supported from IE9 onwards. Can you check if you’re running in IE11 mode? Maybe quirks mode is enabled? —Michiel -------- Original Message -------- Subject: RE: Agenda for Monday, 31 October 2016 ARIA Authoring Practices Guide Task Force Local Time: October 31, 2016 8:36 PM UTC Time: October 31, 2016 8:36 PM From: bryan.garaventa@ssbbartgroup.com To: Michiel Bijl <michiel.list@moiety.me>, public-aria@w3.org <public-aria@w3.org> Unfortunately not, was testing with IE11 J Bryan Garaventa Accessibility Fellow SSB BART Group, Inc. bryan.garaventa@ssbbartgroup.com 415.624.2709 (o) www.SSBBartGroup.com From: Michiel Bijl [mailto:michiel.list@moiety.me] Sent: Monday, October 31, 2016 11:54 AM To: public-aria@w3.org Subject: Re: Agenda for Monday, 31 October 2016 ARIA Authoring Practices Guide Task Force Thanks for the minutes, sorry I wasn’t present, DST doing its thing… I’ve done some work on the tabs. Will look into the issue Bryan brought up. Off the top of my head support for addEventListener was added to Internet Explorer in version 9. If I recall that correctly; I will not add support for IE 8. —Michiel
