Subject: Re: APG Prototype - Feedback request on the new redesign
Hi again everyone,

I want to thank those who have provided feedback so far. I really appreciate your comments and I have been documenting all of them.

That being said, I would like to remind you all that at this stage, we're mainly looking for high-level feedback about the overall information architecture and user experience, e.g. the change from one long technical document to a more browseable and user friendly site. We are not yet looking for feedback about bugs or accessibility issues, nor specific wording, and ordering.

If you've already shared some of this more detail-oriented feedback, we'll definitely save it for when we get to that stage, but for now, I would like everyone to stick to the questions that I framed in my first email, so we can have feedback responses within that framework.

Thanks,

Hi everyone,

As mentioned in our last APG call, we have been working on the first version of the prototype for the new APG site using the new Supporting Docs template from the EOWG team.

One of the main goals of this redesign is to improve the usability by splitting the content strategically into a new Information Architecture to make APG’s resources easier to navigate and find for users.

I would love to gather your feedback and thoughts on this redesign by asking you few questions.

Here’s a link to the prototype (please keep in mind that this is a prototype and there are still some known issues we need to fix, such as broken links, styling, etc.):

Here are the questions I would like you to answer for me:

  1. What’s your overall impression of this new Information Architecture?
  2. What do you like about the new Information Architecture and why?
  3. Do you consider this redesign will improve the User Experience? Why or why not?
  4. What would you like to see changed and why?
  5. In what way does this redesign live up to your expectations?
  6. In what way has this redesign not met your expectations?
  7. Are there any other comments you have about the design?
Please reply to me privately with your answers by Friday, Aug 13th so we can continue iterating on this.
