Hi all,
SVG is considering allowing nested links in SVG and the SVG WG is allowing
us to give feedback on whether nested links would provide accessibility
issues. HTML prohibits nested links - although they work in some browsers.
SVG links (SVG <a> element) are reachable via tabs and should be readable
by AT. In the future, we want to be able to navigate through the
semantically important SVG elements (including links) and have AT read
them.
Are there accessibility reasons nested links are prohibited in HTML? Should
nested links be prohibited in SVG for accessibility reasons?
Regards,
Fred Esch
