Hi Jim, Please understand that the XBL spec is primarily aimed at implementers, not developers. The aim of the Primer will be to clarify what is covered in the XBL spec (and hopefully make clear XBL's purpose and possible applications). Unlike the XBL Spec, we will likely target the Primer at the general web development community (ie. people who already use HTML+CSS(+AJAX), but want to use some of the more powerful features afforded by XBL). Please note that the primer will probably not serve as a Use Case or Requirements document, but may nevertheless inform the XBL Specification on how to make things as easy to use as possible, or point out where things may be unclear. We are currently working out the details of the Primer and we will make a more formal announcement to the public list in the coming weeks. Should this not be published before the specification is worked on, if the purpose isn't clear, how can you create a specification - or if it's clear within the working group as I assume is more likely, how can you publish documents for public review without the public also understanding the purpose of what is being published? Cheers, Jim.
