Dear APA friends, Shawn reached out to WAI regarding promoting CGs, and her email reminded me of the importance of community groups -- they can be super important to a W3C WG/TF when they are active. I took a look at what community groups overtly are committed to accessibility. and could assist and support our activities. Sharing this as it might assist us in many different ways. For example, we can drop into a CG meeting when we are evangelizing our spec, or looking for implementors. I left off those that include A11Y in a laundry list of concerns, like e-gov for example. So here, out of the 375 groups listed on the page, are those most devoted to A11Y issues as per their group description, sorted roughly in size order. - Silver, https://www.w3.org//community/silver/ (2017) [216] - Accessible Online Learning, https://www.w3.org//community/accesslearn/ (2015) [133] - Accessibility in India, https://www.w3.org//community/accessibilityinindia/ (2013) [118] - ACT Rules, https://www.w3.org//community/act-r/ (2019) [90] - ARIA and Assistive Technologies, https://www.w3.org//community/aria-at/ (2018) [77] - WAI-Engage: Web Accessibility, https://www.w3.org//community/wai-engage/ (2012) [76] - Cognitive Accessibility, https://www.w3.org//community/coga-community/ (2021) [69] - CSS Accessibility, https://www.w3.org//community/cssacc/ (2011) [48] - Accessible Infographics, https://www.w3.org//community/infographics/ (2011) [45] - Mobile Accessibility, https://www.w3.org//community/mobileacc/ (2012) [40] - Accessible SVG, https://www.w3.org//community/svga11y/ (2013) [39] - Chinese Web Accessibility, https://www.w3.org//community/cnwa/ (2013) [32] - Accessibility Features, https://www.w3.org//community/a11yfeat/ (2021) [29] - Linked Data for Accessibility, https://www.w3.org//community/lda/ (2020) [26] - Accessibility for Children, https://www.w3.org//community/accessibility4children/ (2019) [25] - Synchronized Multimedia for Publications, https://www.w3.org//community/sync-media-pub/ (2018) [22] - Colour blindness accessibility, https://www.w3.org//community/colourblindness/ (2014) [20] - Accessible Playlist, https://www.w3.org//community/playlist-a11y/ (2016) [11] - Haptic Interaction on the Web, https://www.w3.org//community/webhaptics/ (2013) [11] - WebApps UI, https://www.w3.org//community/webapps-ui/ (2012) [13] - Inclusive Design for the Immersive Web, https://www.w3.org//community/idiw/ (2020) [10] - Nordic Accessibility, https://www.w3.org//community/nordic-accessibility/ (2022) [7] - Low Vision, https://www.w3.org//community/low-vision/ (2022) [7] - Accessibility Discoverability Vocabulary for Schema.org, https://www.w3.org//community/a11y-discov-vocab/ (2021) [9] - Lionel PS There is one for Webauthn which we are looking at regarding Captcha, so I joined.
