Just to speak to one part of Léonies comments here, in terms of telling parcels apart or indeed any consumer item - each one will soon have their own webpage that can describe the content. This could be accessed via anything from password protected QR scan, or RFID that is mapped via a handshake to a particular device that is allowed to read it.
