Here are some excerpts from an article
<https://spendmatters.com/2020/05/13/how-ai-is-transforming-the-ways-companies-source-enterprise-services/>
entitled "How AI is transforming the ways companies source enterprise
services" that are highly relevant to the synergistic potentials of AI
and StratML:
The value chain is integral to companywide operations, and
enterprise sourcing must be fully integrated with end-to-end
procurement processes. Bringing together multiple data points
outside of and within the company provides invaluable insights for
individual business functions, the broader enterprise and suppliers.
To the degree that organizations document their value chains as
Performance Indicators in StratML Part 2 format, AI can readily be
applied to "bring together multiple data points outside and within"
organizations.
Data analytics can provide deeper insights into regional, national
and global markets, arming procurement with information that can
inform strategic planning and decision-making...
"Arming" strategic plans with information will be greatly facilitated by
rendering not only the plans themselves but also other information in
open, standard, machine-readable format, as U.S. federal agencies have
been directed to do by section 10 of GPRAMA and the OPEN Government Data
Act.
The full-scale capabilities for metrics and analytics that AI-based
technology provides can improve procurement progress tracking and
outcomes. Teams can easily investigate and report which KPIs are
met, and when the rationale and context are readily available, these
often result in aggressive gains in accountability and measurement.
Better tracking of suppliers can minimize the rounds of revisions
with proposals and contracts, improving speed to market.
Eventually, smart companies will have smart contracts, implemented in
value-added services that automatically report KPIs, facilitate both
human- and machine-learning, and foster "agressive" continuous
improvement (at breath-taking speed of thought).
What the article is missing is any reference to data standards, much
less open, schema-compliant, machine-readable data.
Therein lies a potential for value-add by groups like the AIKR CG.
