I am writing to you on behalf of Pep Coll (in CC), from Engineering and Project Management (www.eipm.es), about an open position at the smartNorms4BIM project that will start a few months from now in Catalonia.smartNorms4BIM is funded by ACCIÓ (the public agency for the companies competitiveness of the Generalitat de Catalunya) and results from a collaboration between EIPM and the Artificial Intelligence Research Centre (IIIA) from the Spanish National Research Council, -CSIC- (www.iiia.csic.es). As you will see below in the application call, it involves the combination of semantic web technologies - targeting Linked Building Data (LBD) - and BIM: The Artificial Intelligence Research Centre (IIIA) from the Spanish National Research Council, -CSIC-, (www.iiia.csic.es) seeks to hire a SOFTWARE ENGINEER, to join its Technological Development Unit within the framework of the smartNorms4BIM project funded by ACCIÓ.. The smartNorms4BIM project, which is carried out jointly with the company Engineering and Project Management (www.eipm.es), seeks to innovate through ICT in the compliance verification with regulations, codes and standards in the field of Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC), in order to make a qualitative leap in the interoperability between the different agents involved, and thus significantly improve the project management in this industrial sector. To do this, an experimental prototype of a tool that demonstrates computational support for the verification task will be developed, combining modelling and information management techniques with artificial intelligence techniques. A small advance in process automation can lead to a significant reduction in time, cost and risk of error, as well as guiding the adoption of those ICT technologies that will lead to a quality and efficient electronic administration in their rule verification task. Requirements: - Degree in Computer Engineering - Excellent programming skills, particularly in Python and Java - knowledge of semantic technologies (RDF, SPARQL, OWL, ...) In addition, they will be evaluated: - knowledge of computational logic and formal verification - knowledge of graph-oriented databases and visual programming - experience in AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) sectors - communication and teamwork skills - good knowledge of English Salary: € 29,010.80 gross per annum (on 14 payments of € 2,072.20) Contract duration: 15 months Working day: 37.5 h / week Place of work: IIIA-CSIC, Campus UAB, Bellaterra (Cerdanyola del Vallès) Start: July 1, 2020, or as soon as possible If this is something that might be of interest to you, please write to Pep Coll at your earliest convenience.I would also like to ask you to share this application call with your contacts, whom you may consider fitting the profile described above.
