Dear all, The minutes from the AI Agent Protocol CG meeting held on August 12, 2026, have now been compiled. Please review them at the link below and feel free to provide any feedback: Meeting minutes: https://github.com/w3c-cg/ai-agent-protocol/blob/main/meetings/2026-08-12.md This meeting first reviewed the proposal to support multiple DID methods—including did:wba, native did:web, and did:webvh—through a DID-method-agnostic Agent Identity layer. Participants were invited to review the related GitHub pull request, including the method-specific resolution and validation requirements and the did:webvh verifiable-history checks. Protocol draft: https://w3c-cg.github.io/ai-agent-protocol/protocol.html Multi-method DID pull request: https://github.com/w3c-cg/ai-agent-protocol/pull/43 The meeting then discussed Sean's provisional open verifiable agent interoperability model. The proposal explores how DID-based agents could interoperate with agents or workloads using OAuth client metadata, workload identity, PKI, and related cryptographically verifiable identity mechanisms. It separates identity, authentication, authorization, trust evaluation, messaging, and service invocation, and considers RFC 9728 protected-resource metadata as part of a common authorization flow. Participants supported the interoperability objective while emphasizing the need for a focused scope, concrete adapter prototypes, end-to-end demonstrations, performance and complexity analysis, security evaluation, and clear development milestones. The group also discussed whether the eventual output should be a normative standard, community best practice, architectural blueprint, reusable implementation framework, or a staged combination of these. GitHub discussion: https://github.com/w3c-cg/ai-agent-protocol/ We welcome any comments on the minutes, the multi-method DID pull request, or the broader interoperability architecture discussed during the meeting. Best regards, Song and Gaowei
