Dear All: I'm sending this update regarding the upcoming Face to Face meeting of the WAI-Adapt Task Force to those of you who responded to our invitation requesting to send someone from among your colleagues because you, yourself were personally unavailable. Thank you for this implicit support of our work in AAC symbols support for web content! it is noted and much appreciated. Our simple answer is "Yes, but ..." Please read on for a fuller explanation! We say "yes," because we are always happy to welcome our professional colleagues into our activities. We want you to know what we're doing and why, and we very much want your questions, critiques, and perhaps even your active participation. We say "but" because our face to face time is very precious. We need to stay focussed on the goals we believe can only be met by concerted focus in the few in person hours available to us. Therefore, we would ask only that you allow us to bring your designees up to speed on our work ahead of our joint time in Staines-Upon-Thames. We will be happy to spend the time needed to bring our invitees up to speed using Zoom ahead of our in person meetings. We believe this would also enable those new to our deliberations to participate as equals when we're present in person--an outcome we deeply desire. Though somewhat dated, a great starting point is this video presentation from 2023 provided others in W3C: [AAC Symbols in Web Content--2023 Breakout Presentation](https://www.w3.org/2023/09/TPAC/breakouts.html#b-89a19590-3b11-41d1-8129-c03c870f6c29) Please note the technology we're now using differs from that presented in the above video. The use cases we address, however, have not changed. Please feel free to share this email and please cc us when you do.
