Re: Accessible Online Learning CG - June update and call to contribute

Hi, and welcome to the list!

This is a great idea and seems to me to be a very interesting exercise for the group to discuss. My personal view is that it would fit in with the activities that follow our first phase of work, which is focusing on finalising a list of high-priority content edits and new content for the WAI web site. This list is the result of a process of information gap identification and prioritisation that’s taken place over the last 18 months or so. Once this list has been finalised and agreed with the WAI Education and Outreach Working Group, we’ll be talking to them about how best to allocate responsibility for making the edits or writing new content.

But a mapping of WCAG SCs to educational taxonomies could be a valuable additional resource to add to the WAI site, especially if we can figure out more specifically how to present it in a usable format to different stakeholder groups (e.g. instructors, educational web app developers). So I’d be in favour of keeping this idea open as a potential future activity.

Best wishes
Dave
