I thought I’d kick off the introductions. Hi, I’m Sarah Horton. I’ve been working in interaction design since the early days—HyperCard was my first development platform, for creating instructional CD-ROMs. I spent about 20 years working in higher education creating learning resources and, later, doing user experience design and strategy. I started integrating accessibility into my work around 2000. Since then, accessibility has grown into my main area of focus. I’ve been working for The Paciello Group (TPG), an accessibility consultancy, since April of 2013, doing accessibility and user experience reviews, usability testing, and user research and strategy work. We often work with organizations that are involved with providing learning resources and experiences—schools, publishers, software developers. It’s clear that attention to accessibility as a part of overall user experience activities is key to ensuring people with disabilities can participate in online learning activities. I look forward to working with you to explore what's needed with respect to technologies and resources. Sarah Horton UX Strategy Lead The Paciello Group 603 252-6052 mobile
