Hello! We saw the "Invalid characters in URLs" thread and figured we should probably bring this up here too. We wrote a draft not too long ago for an idea we call "Meta URIs", they're intended to solve a few misuses of URIs we see surprisingly frequently. (We still believe the URI misuse is a real issue, however.) One obvious issue with the syntax is that you can't put IPv6 address in an RFC3986 query string.
