[ "me" hat ] Folks here might be interested in some tests I wrote as part of an effort to integrate RFC7234 into the WHATWG's fetch() spec: https://www.mnot.net/blog/2017/03/16/browser-caching In a nutshell, browser cache implementation quality is quite a bit higher since I last looked. I'll be filing a few bugs in the coming days, and adjusting the tests if necessary. Some of the results *might* cause us to rethink some of what's in the HTTP specs too.
