It should just work. <geoff> When a client uses a Target-Selector header, it means that they are aware of versioning, which means they should know that a versioned resource should be checked out before it is modified. So I think that it would be better to make this an error. </geoff> Just because my client is aware of versioning doesn't mean that it should be excluded from some of these conveniences. If bandwidth is low I may well much prefer a single round trip to do a CHECKOUT-PUT-CHECKIN equivalent. Tim
