That is, > please discuss "Vary" >is useless; but if you give us a pointer to a specific >proposal to discuss, then we might have a chance to make >some progress on it. Please discuss my proposal for a "Vary" header. The proposal can be found in <URL:http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/%7Edrtr/vary-header-01.ps> - PostScript <URL:http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/%7Edrtr/vary-header-01.txt> - Plain text <URL:http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/%7Edrtr/vary-header-01.html> - HTML The documents describes a model for variant URLs which depend on `parameters' and how a "Vary" header could be used to convey information about this. Note that it has changed slightly from the version I mailed to http-caching; I have dropped my suggestion that the "Host" header can be omitted from the Vary header, and I now suggest Vary: {const} as a means of identifying a non-variance resource.
