Reading this through I confess that I have a few reservations.

1. The first para is superfluous.
2. While it may be true that a "distributed system consists of discrete  
software agents that must work together to perform some task"; I do not  
think that this captures the essence of what we are trying to do. On a  
world wide scale, there is a large number of things going on at once;  
and ownership is of the essence.
3. The description of Distributed Objects is fine, but I find the  
description of SOAs less than compelling. Somehow, there has to be a  
clearer way of capturing the essence of SOAs.
