Does this mean "undefined" as

1) "not defined by this specification" or
2) as in SQL's three-valued logic

?

For the sake of interoperability, I'd vote for 2). If an implementation
wants to support matching in mixed/element content, it will then have to
*explicitly* extend DAV:basicsearch.
