One use case we have where SSML is inadequate,
and VoiceXML fills the bill, is the inter-mixing
of text-to-speech and pre-recorded pieces of text
in .wav files.

So far I've not managed to persuade IBM's SDK
to run in this mode.

Should it? I.e. no user speech input.
