The 'xmlns' attribute is allowed only (if anywhere) on the html element;
if you have it on other elements and don't use XHTML 1.1 or XHTML Basic,
your document is indeed incorrect. If that is not the problem, you'll
need to provide more information to allow us to debug this problem.
