There will of course be an ‘inline-grid’. For the other permutations, whatever applies to a table applies to a grid. If there is ever ‘table-cell-table’ there will be a ‘table-cell-grid’ (or equivalent use of ‘display-inside’/‘display-outside’ if we take that route)

Regarding Requirement #1:
A “grid” is a ‘display’ value, a coordinate system applicable to some or all blocks, or both.
If it is a value of 'display' then are there all other variants like inline-grid, list-item-grid and table-cell-grid?
