I'm not familiar with XSB Prolog, but I know that SWI Prolog offers a 
Semantic Web library package (see 
http://www.swi-prolog.org/packages/semweb.html), that is well tested 
and used by a number of SW developers. Perhaps that is a good 
starting point?
