To whom it may concern,

I side with the Free Software Foundation on the proposed policy.

I would ask you to prohibit the imposition of "field of use"
restrictions on patent claims contributed to W3C standards.  This
would have unwanted consequences for software distributed under
certain licenses, in particular the GNU General Public License.
