W3C Patent Policy Framework Working Draft

Dear Sirs,

My humble comments.

Surely you must realise that any standard which circumvents a free-world
policy in favour of endosing any technologies or standards which are
based on a patented or paid for model is an extremely bad idea.

You also must realise that any standard encompassing a patented
technology which may be free today, may not necessary be free tomorrow.

As guardians of the web, and indeed the free communicating world, those
alive and those as yet unborn have entrusted you to propose solutions
which will ensure the progress of the human race as a whole both today
and for a much further future.

Yours faithfully,

Justin Daw
