NO! to "W3C Patent Policy Framework"

I have only just heard about the proposed "W3C Patent Policy Framework".

It would have the effect of turning the Web, which was created as, and thrives 
as, a public commons, into a private "enclosure".
While this would obviously make money for some large corporations, it would 
catastrophically reduce the overall value and usefuleness of the Web.

Please, please, don't do it!
