SMIL Browser

Hi,

I am working on a multimedia library and need to choose a common
multimedia document format which will be used within this library. Now I
am considering to use SMIL. 

Is there any activity going on in developing a SMIL Browser? Or will it
be possible to view SMIL documents with some kind of XML browser?
