it seems to me that most implementations of <frames> i have seen are a step
back in user interface design. the multi window concept was braught up in
the 60's & it was a big step forward to bridge <real life> mental concepts
with the abstract symbolism of the <flatscreen world>.
now frames bring us back to the state, where we have fixed sized, not
reorganizable information items crammed into one window!
what about, as an alternative, expanding the multi- window possibilities:
floating windoids, palettes etc...
