Subversive HTML?

I think you need to know that the word "subversion" has a very different meaning
from that which was clearly intended on the page:

Inserting a hyphen would solve the problem: "sub-version" is unambiguous and
unproblematic.

This may seem a rather pedantic observation, but believe me, what you have
written  does not express your intended meaning. Rather, it means (if it means
anything at all) that HTML 4.1 is some sort of corruption, overturning or
undermining of HTML 4 - in other words, a subversive element. I very much doubt
that you wish to say that.
