15: Datatypes

Issues with the current proposal:
    * The lack of XML examples (Patrick Stickler to provide)- done
    * Jeremy's entailment is a problem
    * Octal is not an XML Schema datatype
    * XML Schema datatypes do not support different language representations

Proposed Issues:
Its too complex; the doublet idiom was not completely removed. Section 5 of

  http://www.coginst.uwf.edu/users/phayes/simpledatatype23-02-2002.html

  is redundant.

Patrick: do you have another issue?

16: Contexts and Quoting
Pat has asked for some telecon time to explain some ideas.

17: Issue rdfms-xml-literal-namespaces
The basic idea is that a parser will add namespace declarations to the top level element of a parseType=Literal, for those namespace prefixes used in the literal which are visible (i.e. used in element or attribute names). Namespace prefixes used only in attribute values or element content will be ignored.

The exact string produced by a parser is undefined. However, the strings produced by any two conformant parsers, when canonicalized, are equal.

Propose the WG resolves:

o the exact form of the string value corresponding to any given XML Literal
within RDF/XML is implementation dependent.

o the string value is well-balanced XML

o taking the exclusive canonicalization of both the original XML Literal in its containing document, and the string value of the literal produce the same character string. This will be used as the basis for test cases.

o the canonicalization above is without comments

  o this issue is closed

o to raise a comment on the XQuery/XPath 2.0 data model that it does not adequately address the handling of namespace prefixes appearing in attribute values.

18: Internationalization
Awaiting Jeremy's updated proposal.

19: IRI's
