[LLD-XG] Issues with attendee lists (was: Re: Minutes of 2010-06-10 LLD meeting)

Hi everyone,

I've received a complaint from Andras about this week's minutes. He had been forgotten from the participant list. This was a mistake of us, which is now fixed. Thanks Andras for spotting it!

As a matter of fact with a high number of participants it's quite difficult for us to chair and be involved in spotting who is here or not, and who is behind all these masked numbers Zakim sends us (e.g., a line with 03315379aadd at [1]). Even with the help of our telecon-savvy participants (thanks to you, by the way!)...

There are however a number of steps which could make it easier, for the ones here new to this type of conference call--and even for the more experienced: I know it took me quite a while to get it right ;-)

- try to log in the IRC channel first, so that you get a chance to spot your phone number displayed by Zakim when you call in. If you're not on IRC, you will not see a line like "14:00:53 [Zakim] + +03315379aadd" which announces your successfully dialing in.

- try to announce yourself (or answer to our "who just joined?" question) when you call in, so that someone already on the conference can type a line that identifies you "13:58:39 [antoine] zakim, aaaa is william".

- pay attention to the output of Zakim in the IRC: quite often in the call, we will type the magic question "zakim, who is on the phone?" resulting in Zakim's giving all participants ("13:56:42 [Zakim] On the phone I see antoine, michaelp, Tom, michaelp.a"). If you are not clearly identified there, please say it in the call, we'll try to fix it.

Cheers,

Antoine
