Oh great. I had no idea tags were in play already — probably because there's no list of tags / list of pages that are available like http://blog.webplatform.org/tag/doc-sprints/.

What I'd like to see most, at the moment, is a list of posts that are about upcoming doc sprints. People may be interested in attending a sprint near them (or helping to organize it), and will need information. The blog seems like a smart place to post such things, and a tag of only upcoming sprint posts (not reports of the past) would be a great place to easily gather such info & discuss in comments.

Hi Jen.

I think we’re using tags to a certain extent. See http://blog.webplatform.org/tag/doc-sprints/, for example.

I’m sure that there are best practices and applications of tagging that we could do better, though. Are you thinking of creating aggregating pages or something like that? Or am I misunderstanding?

Thanks,

Eliot

I'm thinking it'd be helpful to add tags (or categories) to blog posts, and let WordPress create pages for each of those categories.
• upcoming sprints (w/ info on how to attend)
• sprint round-ups (summary of what happened after the fact)
• Web Platform Wednesdays info
• announcements like hey we finished CSS, we are moving on to JS

That way we can put links on other pages (like the home page) that say things like: learn more about upcoming sprints, and link directly to a list of blog posts that only talk about upcoming sprints.

Thoughts?

WordPress can do this easily.
