Imprecision happens to the number one thing hated by engineers. If you want a new concept of location, **give it a new name**. Call it BRL (browser location) or OBL (omnibar location) or Random(A-Z, 3). Is there any reason for the blatant abuse of synonyms aside from an overt declaration of war?
