Re: Social TV?

Well I guess the discussion will be different depending on what the definition of Social TV is. If we agree it encompasses the technologies to enable social viewing of TV content (way beyond Tweeting or posting on Facebook) there are still some open questions. I think one aspect that could be looked in and was what I presented in Berlin in the concept of content protection (not DRM) in a social viewing experience when you have different content being mingled: the commercial content and the commentaries/ancillary content produced by the social circle. Other aspects include synchronization when content is consumed on different platforms (web and traditional TV is actually a good example) and across short distances (in the home) or large (across countries) as well as collaborative filtering (for example using the friends recommendation to sort through search results to find what is available to view in your area etc.).

Maybe not worth a different TF from web and TV but surely something to orient recent discussions on platforms, remotes and connectivity like DLNA or other.
