Since I wasn't able to differentiate what Karl wrote versus what Steve wrote in the version of [1] I received in my Inbox, I checked the archive and indeed [1] fails to meet the basic attribution requirement we need for the list's archive. As such, I think it would be useful if the Chairs of this group would please lead a discussion that will lead to a reasonable mail list etiquette policy for this list.
