Re: Physical web project

Very much interested in this subject, in particular as it pertains to Personalized Health Care which includes delivery of healthcare services using eHealth, mHealth and iHealth (not related to Apple!).

The Physical Web is actually two separate things, namely the Internet of Devices and the Internet of DNA, which issue I have addressed in at least two dozen posts on Horizon 2020 European Union Research program LinkedIn groups.

The IEC/ISO JTC 1 secretariat has already indicated how to proceed to start working on standards and I have received numerous requests to submit a paper on this issue in order to create a well-defined framework for distinguishing between the Internet of Data, the Internet of Devices and the Internet of DNA.

The Internet of DNA consists of all living things, humans, livestock, wild animals, natural habitats, small, large and very large ecosystems, all for the purpose of (health and environmental) monitoring, surveillance, law enforcement. scientific research using remote data access etc.

Five ingredients are key to all three identified kinds of Internet: (1) security and privacy issues, (2) the need for universal classes of ontologies, (3) human to machine, human to human and machine to machine interface and interaction frameworks, (4) technical standards for enabling technologies and (5) standards for enabling software services and processes.

Horizon 2020 provides an excellent opportunity to get all five mentioned areas of interest funded.

So can we please now add LinkedIn groups to our arsenal of information exchange vehicles?

I read with interest about your project here
https://github.com/google/physical-web

and learn about a proposed requirement of a 'standard' to support such
a universal interface

I am happy to see work done in this direction, there is a need for it
:-)

I develop universal systems interfaces, writing a paper on the subject

together with fellow practitioners 2012 started a W3C commjunity SWISI
http://www.w3.org/community/swisig/

here is a summary of our members activities in this space
http://www.w3.org/community/swisig/preliminary-report-april-2014/

one of our goals is to start work (brainstorming, analysis of the
field, requirements gathering etc) toward such a standard

your projects resonates with many of us

we would welcome your input and contribution at any level

- What can this community do to support the vision for your project?

- What input can you provide to stimulate our community to
consolidate vision of such a standard?

Please consider joining this community, or give us a remnote talk (a
short video or research note) addressing the community with
suggestions/idea of how to go forward,

Hope to connect soon
