As I understand it, a direct mapping just has to define an RDF graph
in terms of an input relational database; that it doesn't have any
dependency on r2ml.

The datalog definition would be cool 'cause we could exercise it in
e.g. SWI prolog. I can sketch something up in a functional syntax as
well.
