RE: Seeking Clarification of Patent Licensing Commitments for BONDI APIs [was: Re: Early comparison of Nokia/BONDI APIs]

Hi Art,

A lexical mistake on my part - I of course mean the "BONDI membership"
of OMTP.

BONDI has previously been submitted to both the WebApps group and this
group. When the contribution was made here, I don't believe either
Nokia, OMTP or any other company were members of the working group - it
didn't exist. I clearly understand the point you are driving at -
however the DAP group is still being formed and I think perhaps your
concerns are overstated. We have an existing legal framework which is
working - the Turin rules. Please can you clearly outline your concerns?

Thanks,

David.

Your use of "entire membership" here implies every OMTP member is a
member of BONDI and consequently, every OMTP member has agreed to the
Turin Rules for these DAP WG inputs. Is this true?

Also, there appear to be members of OTMP/BONDI that are not members
of the DAP WG [1] (e.g. Ericsson, Ikivo). Would you please confirm
the difference list i.e. which OMTP/BONDI members contributed to the
inputs submitted to the DAP WG but are not a member of DAP?
