Should/must hyperlinks be blue or purple? I would say:
"If the page include text with same color/style than hyperlinks  
(whatever color/style is used for them), then [FAIL]"

And the example: "Using red text to represent an error message, PASS"  
is not 100% valid, since you are "using color to represent  
information", perhaps mixing a strong or em tag would be better, to  
give the idea of using markup to represent information.. something  
like "Using, not just, red text to represent an <em>error message</ 
em>, PASS"
