Dear XSL Editors, As far as I can tell the XSL-FO 1.1 Recommendation doesn’t tell anything about footnotes in repeated table headers or footers. If the header and footer of a table are /not/ to be repeated on each page spanned by the table (table-omit-header/footer-at-break="true"), the behaviour is pretty obvious. But if they must be repeated, how should the footnotes be handled: - put only on the first page spanned by the table? - put on each page spanned by the table? - footnotes in header put on the first page, footnotes in footer put on the last page spanned by the table? Should footnotes even be allowed as descendants of fo:table-header and fo:table-footer, anyway? Those are a bit like fo:static-content elements, after all.
