In XSLT 1.0, as amended through today, section 5.6 is overly terse about the context that is in effect for xsl:apply-imports. It says that apply-imports "processes the current node" but does not say that the processing is exactly like apply-templates other than the choice of templates. A Xalan user questioned the behavior of position() within the template invoked by apply-imports, and I cannot say definitively that the context position and size are the same as for the template containing the apply-imports instruction. Please clarify the required behavior through an erratum. .................David Marston
