OK, so what about "para[position() mod 4 = 0]" being more specific than "para[position() mod 2 = 0]"? However far you go, it won't be far enough, and in my personal opinion the current spec already goes too far: it would be better to insist on explicit user-defined priorities. Mike Kay Software AG
