XSLT 2.0 (or 2.1 if 2.0 precedes XQuery) *must* allow use of XQuery within it. I was quite surprised not to see this requirement! There are innumerable occasions where the full power of XQuery is necessary within XSLT. If this is not required a dozen extension functions/elements will add it in a dozen different ways, which is far less desirable. -- Jess Holle jessh@ptc.com
