Section 4.8 explains very clearly which nodes are stripped, but it doesn't seem to define what "stripping" means. It could be interpreted as "remove the node from the tree", or as "remove all white space from the node". I assume the former. It might also be worth saying in 4.7 that a text node can never be zero-length. Regards, Mike Kay
