XProc 3.1 “Last Call” Specifications

Hello,

The XProc editorial team met in early June and decided that enough bug reports and editorial improvements had been collected to justify a new round of publications.

We’ve been busy since than and have today published XProc 3.1 “last call” editorial drafts:

   https://xproc.org/specifications.html

There are a few small changes in the specification and the standard step library. In addition a collection of additional step library specifications are being published as completed specifications in 3.1.
Technically, that adds these steps to the XProc 3.1 standard step repertoire:

   p:css-formatter
   p:directory-list
   p:file-copy
   p:file-create-tempfile
   p:file-delete
   p:file-info
   p:file-mkdir
   p:file-move
   p:file-touch
   p:ixml
   p:markdown-to-html
   p:os-exec
   p:os-info
   p:send-mail
   p:validate-with-dtd
   p:validate-with-json-schema
   p:validate-with-nvdl
   p:validate-with-relax-ng
   p:validate-with-schematron
   p:validate-with-xml-schema
   p:xsl-formatter

The language and standard step library specifications include appendixes that document the changes from 3.0. There is also a “diff” version from the 3.0 specification.

Careful review is encouraged. Please report any issues that you find.
(I’ve already found the one where the generated step libraries are labeled “3.0” instead of “3.1” :-/)

                                        Be seeing you,
                                          norm
