Xalan Transformer for p:xslt steps

Hi all,

I am looking at moving a pipeline that is currently implemented in bash scripts which call java to an xproc implementation using Calabash.  However, the stylesheets make use of Xalan extension functions and custom extension functions (using the Xalan API).  

Can I use the stylesheets in their current form or will it require a re-write to use Saxon?
