Hugo, You raised issue 26 against the SOAP 1.2 Part 2 Recommendation: "The document does not define nor reference a simple authentication feature." The XMLP WG has decided to close this issue by removing the offending mention of a simple authentication feature from the document. Specifically we will issue errata to change the descriptive text to eliminate the reference to the feature but retain the row for the 401 status code: Current text: "Indicates that the HTTP request requires authorization. If the simple authentication feature is unavailable or the operation of simple authentication ultimately fails, then the message exchange is regarded as having completed unsuccessfully." Modified text: "Indicates that the HTTP request requires authorization. The message exchange is regarded as having completed unsuccessfully." We hope this resolution meets with your approval. Regards, Marc (on behalf of the XML Protocol WG) [1] http://www.w3.org/2000/xp/Group/xmlp-rec-issues.html#x26 --- Marc Hadley <marc.hadley at sun.com> Web Products, Technologies and Standards, Sun Microsystems.
