Andy, You raised an issue on the xml-dist-app list[1] regarding how a SOAP node which encounters an error after the message has begun streaming should behave; this was logged as issue 77[2]. After discussion, the Working Group has decided that the text in the current draft[3] is sufficient to address this problem without specifically calling it out, as SOAP requires Faults to be represented in certain ways, and for message processing to occur in the manner specified. SOAP applications which encounter recoverable errors (e.g., a missing row in a database) should define conventions that indicate them without the use of Faults. Please let us know if this resolution is acceptable.
